Jason Buchanan

Personal Lines Account Manager

Jason is a resident of the Bear Creek community in Chatham County and he enjoys listening to celtic, jazz, and swing music on his commutes into the office.  He is an enormous fan of high school wrestling, UNC basketball, and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.

Jason is a 1983 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and a 1991 graduate of the Divinity School at Duke University.  He performed an intense one year residency as a chaplain at the University of Tennessee Medical Center following his days at Duke.  He then worked for six years as a social worker in Waynesville, NC.

Jason has nearly 16 years experience as a licensed property/casualty agent.  From 2000-2015 he worked with an agency where he maintained a loyal customer base.  He took care of his customers by listening rather than talking and by answering their questions in order to match policies to needs.  Everyone has a story and Jason would rather listen than tell his.  But he will if you ask.

Jason is a past member of a local Ruritan club, he was a PRA president for two years, and he served on a local non-profit board.  He is a former assistant BSA scout leader and is a mentor to nine Eagle Scouts.  His wife of 24 years is an RN Supervisor.  Together they have two children, a son who works in RTP and a daughter who is a sophomore at NC State.
